Örnsköldsvik Municipality has 56,000 inhabitants. Around half of these live in the town of Örnsköldsvik, or in neighbouring areas. Bjästa, Husum, Bredbyn and Köpmanholmen are the largest communities outside of Örnsköldsvik.

You can get to Örnsköldsvik by train, air plane, bus or car.
Bus
Buses to other towns and smaller communities within the municipality depart from the travel centre in Örnsköldsvik. City buses that travel around Örnsköldsvik depart from Örnparken, which is close to the market square.
Din Tur provides public transport and connectivity throughout Västernorrland County, which includes Örnsköldsvik Municipality.

The Botniabanan line makes travelling between Umeå and Sundsvall easy and convenient. Trains stop at the travel centre in central Örnsköldsvik. The regional train, Norrtåg, also stops close to Örnsköldsvik Hospital and in Husum.
