How to get to Örnsköldsvik

Örnsköldsvik is located on the east coast ofSweden , about 600 km north of Stockholm. The municipality is part of the county of Västernorrland and comprises the northern part of the beautiful “HighCoast" region.
 
If you fly from Arlanda airport in Stockholm, you land at Örnsköldsvik airport within one hour. The Bothnia Railway is now under construction which will provide a rail link direct from Örnsköldsvik´s town centre in 2010. Until then Mellansel is the nearest railway station.

If you come by car, the E4 highway runs right through the town. Coaches offer good links along the Stockholm - Luleå route and also go run inland services, e.g to Östersund or Sollefteå.

If you come in your own pleasure boat, you can make land at the guest harbour pier just one block away from the town square “Stora torget".

Örnsköldsvik is situated on the east coast of Sweden approx. 600 km north of Stockholm. 55,000 children, youths and adults live in the Municipality covering an area of 680 km2. Approx. 35,000 people live in the central parts of the Municipality, which, together with the City of Örnsköldsvik is experiencing a strong period of growth. There is a strong industrial sector here with several hig-tech companies, excellent schooling opportunities, housing well worth the price and the advantages of a small municipality close at hand.

A lot is happening in Örnsköldsvik just now - not least within industry and commerce. During the past few years a number of consultative companies have been established. In a comprehensive development effort called "Världsklass 2015" representatives from trade and commerce and the Municipality as well as committed citizens are making a joint effort to stimulate growth.
