The High Coast
Örnsköldsvik is part of the World Heritage site known as the High Coast. One of the unique aspects of the High Coast is that here, the land rises out of the water by almost one centimetre per year.
The High Coast is popular for outdoor activities and both the archipelago and the woods cater for this. The deep bays encourage sailing. You can hike 130 kilometres along the High Coast trail, from the High Coast Bridge in Kramfors Municipality to the centre of Örnsköldsvik. Along the way you will enjoy fantastic views and have the chance to rest in small shelters and cabins.
High Coast tourism provides tips about places to visit, accommodation and activities in Örnsköldsvik and the surrounding municipalities of Kramfors, Härnösand and Sollefteå.
